WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT ITSELF(Download)

( All Scripture NKJV)

Written by at least 36 different people (kings, priests, shepherds, soldier, statesman, tax collector, fishermen etc), over a 1500 hundred year period. All the separate books consistently support each other’s message even though the writers were unaware, for the most part, of the other’s writings. The 66 books all fit together as the great unfolding revelation of God and His purposes

The Old Testament was written mostly in Hebrew. The New Testament was written mostly in Greek, with a few parts in
Aramaic the language spoken by Jesus. Today the Bible has been translated into more than 2000 languages.

The Old Testament claims that God spoke through His human servants. Exp: David- 2 Sam 23:2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me…”. New Testament: Paul- I Thess 2:13 “… when you received the word of God which you heard from us…”

The Bible does not merely contain the Word of God: It is the Word of God!  The Holy Spirit communicates with those who hear what He says through His Word. It is significant that the Holy Spirit, who Jesus said would “guide us into all truth” (Jn 16:13), generally does so through Scripture.

INSPIRATION: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”. 2Tim 3: 16-17

This scripture applies equally to Old and New Testament Scripture.

Inspiration=God Breathed; and indicates that God is the source of these writings.

The Bible is the only written revelation which God has given to man. It contains a warning about adding or taking away from what He has spoken.  Rev 22:18-19

The Bible claims clearly to be God’s word to man:

1.  Ex 24:4 “And Moses wrote all the _____ __ ___ ____…”

2. Is 1:1-2 “The vision of Isaiah …Hear, O Heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the ____ ___ ______…”

3. Is 28:16 “Therefore thus says the Lord God…”

4. Ezek 1:3 “…the word of the Lord ____ _________ __ _______ the priest…”

5. Ezek 2:4 “Thus says the Lord God…”

6. Zech 7:1 “… the word of the Lord came to Zechariah …”

7. Zech 7: 4-5 “Then the word of the ____ __ _____ came to me, saying, “Say to all the people of the land, and to the priests…”

8. Zech 7:7 “Should you not have obeyed the words which the Lord proclaimed _______ ___ ______ ________…”

9. I Thess 2:13 “… because when you received the Word of God which you heard from us , you welcomed it not as the word of men, but __ __ __ __ _____, the Word of God…”

10. II Pet 1:20 “… no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophesy never came by the will of man, but ____ ___ __ ___ _____ as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”

Occasions when a direct command from God was given to write.

11. Moses: Ex 17:14 “Then the Lord said to Moses “write this…”

12. Isaiah 8:1 “Take a large scroll, and write…”.

13. Isaiah 30:8 “Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and note it on a scroll…”

14. Habakkuk 2:2 “…write the vision …”

15. Paul: Rom 16:26 “…the prophetic scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God…”

16. John: Rev 1:19 “write the things which you have seen…”

17. John: Rev 21:5 “…Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

Jesus Himself bore witness to the Scripture. He confirmed the whole of the Old Testament. He did not find one error or inconsistency in it.  His exhortations and arguments were based   on it.

18. He declared Matt 5:18 “… till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will __ __ _____ ____ from the law till all is fulfilled.”

19. Lk 24:44 “… These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of _____ and the ________ and the ______ concerning Me.” NOTE: These three (3) sections make up the Old Testament.

20. Matt 4:4 “… It is written…”

21. Matt 19:4 “Have you not read…?”

22. Matt 26:54 “How then could the __________ __ _________ that it must happen thus?”

23. Lk 4:21 “… Today this _________ __ _________ in your hearing”

24. Jn 5:46 “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for __ _____ _____ __.”

25. Jn 10:35 “… the Scripture cannot be broken.”

26. Jn 17:8 “For I have _____ __ ____ ___ _____ which you have given Me.”
