The Power Of The Supernatural

It was Sunday morning right before a service. One of our members came up to me and said; "Pastor, I had a dream and I wrote it down. God told me to give it to you." I thanked the person and put the paper in my Bible intending to read it later in the day.

When I got home, and after eating lunch with the family, I read what the person had written regarding the dream. In it, she dreamed there was a great spiritual rain coming to our church and ministry. In the dream she could smell the rain and as she did, she was instructed by God to tell me something very specific. God, in the dream said to her, "Tell Pastor Myers it's coming...it's coming."

Being obedient, she did what she was instructed. As I read the paper, within my spirit there was a witness. In fact, it was the fourth or fifth confirmation that there is a mighty outpouring of spiritual rain coming upon the body of Christ. Many within the body are sensing that God is about to do something that will touch the entire world.

There is an excitement bubbling down deep in the spirit of believers. None of us are quite sure what it is or what it entails. We just know that God is about to do something awesome. Even in the dream, I told the person who had the dream, "I've seen a lot of moves of God but never anything like this one."

Can you feel the excitement within your spirit man? Are you also sensing that changes are on the way? Does the thought that God could do things to change us and the world we live if we would only believe?

I'm reminded of the Bible story of the ten virgins waiting for the door to open. Five of them brought extra oil in case the wait was longer than anticipated. The other five ran out of oil and had to go and buy some. And as they left, the bridegroom came, opened the door and left the five unprepared virgins behind.

So which group do you belong? Are you eagerly anticipating this move, or has the drudgery of ministry dulled your senses? Are you so engrossed in the everyday operations of church life that the day of the supernatural is only some Bible story you read and preach about? Are you in the flow of the spirit, prophesying, laying hands and praying for those who are sick, feeble and weak?

How will the master find you when He comes? Will you miss His coming altogether? Oh I know you won't miss the rapture, but will you miss this supernatural move that's coming upon the earth. You will if you're not waiting and expecting it!

"What do you mean waiting and expecting it?" you mind cries out.

Simply this; are you allowing the Holy Spirit freedom in your services? Are you open to new things within the structure of your weekly worship? Does the thought that you might have to get out of your worship rituals scare or even aggravate you? If so, it's time to open yourself up to the supernatural move that's coming.

For months now we've seen a slow but continuous change in our worship services. My preaching has taken on new depth, direction and purpose. Our worship feels different and God is using avenues that I would have never expected just a year ago.

In last week's morning worship, God used a "rapper" to minister to us right in the middle of a worship song. There had been a prophetic song sung by one of our praise singers. We were singing part of that song as a chorus when the Holy Spirit instructed me to bring up one of our rapper artists. I asked him could you do a rap while they're singing. He replied he could, he did, and God's power fell on the place.

The altar was full with people worshiping, being healed, delivered and ministered to by God's people.  It was the most awesome thing I've seen in a long time. Imagine, a rapper rapping during a worship chorus. Who would have ever thought something like that would happen. And you know what, it was a God thing. I've received more emails about that service, and postings on Facebook about it than any other service lately.

"Why would God do such a thing?" you might ask. And…wasn't it confusing listening to a rapper and a worshiper together. NO! It was beautiful. It flowed in a way that could never be orchestrated by man. It was totally a God thing. And you know what...it blessed us in ways we never expected.

This was a small tasted of the experience that is coming. God in this later rain will pour down the unexpected...and it will produce unexpected results. Are you ready for it? If not you must get ready for it! It is imperative that you do.

You can no longer be content with the same old same old. Services can't be centered on a few songs, a hymn or two, the offering, the sermon and the dismissal. It must be about coming to the well and drinking of water you've never tasted before. It must be a time where you decide you want God more than you want your religious rights and rituals. It must be a time that God is freed in your personal life, your ministry and your church.

As Elijah sent his servant to the mountain top to see if the rain was coming, you too must go and see. For I tell you, there is a cloud forming. It is only the size of a man's hand at present, but it will bring a downpour like you've never seen. Wait for it. Pray for it. Jump into it when it comes for it shall surely bring revival to our land.
